Chez Maman

A very special place as it's also a flea market. The dishes are classical French dishes very well prepared. Selection of wine is good and service was fast and very polite. It was very hot inside but not much can be done when it's a heat wave outside.

Had ear marked Chez Maman before visiting Nantes and it did not disappoint. An incredibly generous dish of beef bourguignon was ideal for this Sunday lunch: big chunks of beek cheeky (I think) were so moreish with plenty of sauce, little baby onions, carrots and a huge service of fries. My partner enjoyed an equally homely chicken main course. The cider we had was so delicious. I couldn't not order a classic creme brulee and it was just perfect. Sarah enjoyed a super rich chocolate fondant that was warm and so unctuous. Great little restaurant to watch the world go by with food at an appealing price point and very laid back, friendly service. One of our best meals in Nantes - highly recommend
